Air Condition Duct

Ok so at the end of last class we made some last second small decisions on transitional elements between the surface and subsurface of our project. One of the elements was some kind of air condition duct, or just a square duct of some sorts. So using what Erik showed us in class, and with the link on the blog to the game artist, specifically the tutorial there about hard surface painting for textures. I combined information from Erik and this tutorial and came up with a duct and texture i think we might be able to use. So on the picture uploaded there is my ambient occlusion map, my uv map(all worked out with the necessary edges attached to eachother) next to that, going right, is the texture image i made combining two textures from mayang and using some custom brushes (the brushes are below it in the white square) also on here i decided to show my texture with the UV map on it, and next to that is the bump map. The big image on the far right is what it looked like when it was rendered in Maya. For this geometry, the process wassnt that hard at all, but im understanding more about how the process works.

Cathedral

I have already started blocking this out, but i think it fits what i had in mind.

I need to up my skills at speed painting
while doing this tho it was easier for me to imagine it as a model than it has been for me before
